"Entre deux" literally means "in between two". It is the documentation of places and objects significant for me in both Manchester and Mauritius. I have created a space in between those two countries as a representation of how I feel. As an outsider, in between two countries, in between two cultures and in between what I consider as my two homes. It is inspired mostly by a feeling of displacement and not belonging; when I am in Mauritius I crave for Manchester and vice versa.
Making use of 35mm film, I shot a whole roll in Manchester before going back to where I was born - after being away for two years- and re shot on the same roll once there. I left the end result up to chance and the final photos coincidentally combine in the prettiest ways my two homes, Mauritius and Manchester.
